AHIR SHAH

A veteran of the comedy scene, yet barely out of his twenties, Ahir has spent more than a decade honing his craft and is now an expert in the art of finely crafted, super-intelligent heartfelt satire.  His latest show - Control - garnered him a deserved nomination for Best Show at the Edinburgh Fringe and it showcased all his hugely linguistic flair and performative verve as he tackled big ideas of globalisation, fascism, empire and milk.

"One of his generation’s most eloquent comic voices." ★★★★ Telegraph

"Excellent…A questing argument against compassion fatigue and a generational cri de coeur” ★★★★ The Guardian

"Fiendishly clever and furious." ★★★★ Times

TANIA EDWARDS

Tania Edwards is a stand-up comedian and writer. Credits include Stand Up For The Week, Twit of the Year (Channel 4), Mock the Week, Après Ski (BBC2), and The Unbelievable Truth (Radio 4). She recently supported Katherine Ryan on her sell out tour.

Tania was a finalist in the Hackney Empire, Amused Moose, Leicester Square, Latitude, and Funny Women competitions. Her last solo show Tania Edwards: Electrifying was named in James Acaster’s top comedy picks for The Guardian, Glamour magazine’s top female comedians to see at the Fringe, and The Mirror’s top five jokes of the Fringe.

"Akin to a female Simon Evans… a bit posh and something of a sociopath…sublime." Chortle

RACHEL WHEELEY

Rachel is a hugely talented comedian and podcast producer. She mixes her love of comedy and science to great effect and has recently performed at Glastonbury, the Royal Institution and the Science Museum.

GARY TRO

As seen on BBC iPlayer and heard on BBC Radio 4, stand-up Gary Tro is an exciting breakthrough act making waves on the UK and international comedy circuit with his joyously angry and hilariously anarchic style of comedy. He’s also a talented improviser and performs as one half of nerd-culture double act The Just Us League

A regular on the touring circuit, in 2017 Gary supported Tez Ilyas on national tour and took his own show ‘SupercalifragilisticexpiGaryTrocious’ to festivals all across the UK and at the Charleston Comedy Festival USA. In 2018, Gary is making his Australian touring debut with his new show ‘Gary Tro-ke Karaoke’.

THOMAS RACKHAM

Tom is an excellent up and coming act from the Midlands, with an approachable observational style and matter of fact delivery that marks him out as a potential pretender to the crown of Sean Lock

"A box ready comic." Chortle

AND RESIDENT HOST

BEN VAN DER VELDE

Standing a statuesque five foot five inches high (not in heels) and weighing in at eleven stone (on a good day) Ben is the current light-middleweight contender for compering champion of North London.

"Sharp and crafty gagsmith, a life-giving compere." Chortle

"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine
