GLENN MOORE

EDINBURGH COMEDY AWARD BEST SHOW NOMINEE 2018

Glenn Moore is a comedian and writer. You may have seen him on Mock The Week, and Rob Delaney's Stand Up Central. You may have heard him on Absolute Radio. You may have heard his jokes on The Mash Report.  You may well have retweeted some of his outstanding one-liners on Twitter. You may just not know who he is, and at this stage that's genuinely absolutely fine, but be assured he is one hell of a production line of world-class gags.

“The best showcase of pure joke-writing skill on the Fringe.” Guardian

“A prolific writer of clever, distinctive gags. Brilliantly original punchlines.” Chortle

“Relentlessly silly and gag-laden – a potential comedy great.” The List

ERICH MCELROY

Originally from Seattle, Erich joined ranks and became a British citizen and is highly regarded for his humourous and insightful take on living in the UK. As well as writing for The Independent and the Huffington Post, Erich wrote for the weekly satirical ‘The Comedy Tree News’ which lampoons life in the UK and topical news headlines, which was published in the South African Times, Australian Times and New Zealand Times.

Previously invited to take part in the AAA Show in Edinburgh, Erich was spotted as one to watch after receiving 4 star reviews along with a Total Fringe Sellout Award for his 2006 Edinburgh show Brokeback Britain, which was praised for its “great gags” (The Stage), and described by The List as “hilariously insightful”.

“At ease with the audience, making them feel comfortable in return… it’s this geniality that will ensure his place on the circuit.” Chortle

“A welcome breeze of conciliatory good humour in the independence debate.” The List

GREG FAULKNER

Greg Faulkner’s comedy is a mix of satire, sarcasm and impressions. He was resident MC at The Comedy Cafe Theatre and now MCs for them in Oslo, Norway, as well as gigging at clubs around the UK.  He exudes a mix of robust irish charm and an astonishing range of voices, facial expressions and mimicry.

MAGGIE KOWALSKI

Hailing from Poland Maggie joined the comedy scene in late 2015 with the aim of educating people on navigating through life filled with cultural kinks, questionable family members and a maze of customs and habits. Maggie has since beaten the gong at the Comedy Store King Gong show and come runner-up at the prestigious New Act of the Year awards.  Her mixture of acidic one-liners and brutal put-downs about her adopted country have made her a favourite with audiences.

DANIELLE GRUFFERTY

A multiple new act of the year finalist, Danielle is a refreshing and potent new voice of political comedy.

"A lot to offer. Same ballpark as Bridget Christie, with an intelligent and interesting base.” Chortle

"Strangely refreshing." Beyond the Joke

"Danielle is wicked sharp and sharply wicked. An insightful mind and important voice in comedy." Desiree Burch

AND YOUR GUEST HOST:

ALEXANDER BENNETT

Alexander Bennett has been performing comedy from the age of 15, and is a rising star on the British alternative comedy scene. He has performed with the popular and acclaimed comedy groups ACMS and Weirdos, and will be taking a solo show and a game show set in hell to the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe.

“Witty, weird and dark, the one to watch out for: at the spearhead of a wave of great new comics. All hail Alexander Bennett!” Harry Hill

“Touched with madness…choice laughs… I don’t think I can begin to do him justice; a producer and performer of some refreshingly different material.” Chortle

“Warm, insane and very funny.” The Guardian
