The Colonel Fawcett pub, in the back streets of Camden, has built up an incredible reputation since its inception (on the site of The Camden Arms est. 1845) in 2011. One of Camden's few independent free houses, we're proud to offer a great array of 19 beers on draft, over 100 gins and a fantastic…

KEITH FARNAN
An Irish whirlwind of lively crowd interaction, high-fallutin' concepts and warm-hearted craic, Keith is one of the warmest and smartest headliners around. Every set is different and every set is like having a conversation with your very best mate, in which you feel yourself becoming smarter with every sentence you listen to. Whether taking on global economics, surveillance, the death penalty or the slings and arrows of love, Keith is always 100% compelling.
Keith has appeared on BBC’s Michael Mcintyre Comedy Roadshow as well as adapting his own comedy documentary for RTE, Money, Money, Money: Keith Farnan versus the Economy. He is a true global comic as well, having performed as a stand-up all over the world, from Montreal to Amsterdam to Hong Kong. His four Edinburgh Festival shows have proved a powerful mix of the personal and the political and have sold out their runs at the major comedy festivals in the UK as well as the Soho Theatre and Royal Festival Hall in London.
“Artful, satirical…with a lightness of touch and a hefty helping of roguish Celtic charm.” The Sunday Times
“If Eddie Izzard had been Irish, he’d surely have turned out a lot like Keith Farnan.” The Scotsman
ABIGOLIAH SCHAUMAN
Abigoliah is a product of her New York stand up roots; frank, funny, and unapologetic.
As the only yoga instructor/comedy in comedy Abigoliah presents her always hilarious comedy with an open heart chakra. Bringing her audience into her world with the warmth and excitement like a friend who you haven’t seen in a while.
Her comedy extends past the stage as she was nominated in 2016 for a Malcom Hardee “Cunning Stunt Award” for buying an incredible amount of outside advertising and then plastering them with fake reviews poking fun at the usefulness of the critics words. She has been featured on Comedian’s Comedians Podcast with Stuart Goldsmith and The Guilty Feminist with Deborah Francis White.
“Her cheeky honesty is completely disarming and delightful.” Chortle
“A foul mouthed sweetheart, aggressively feminine, endearingly butch and curiously disturbed.” The Skinny
JACK HESTER
Upcoming act Jack Hester is a high energy, rapid fire, good craic Irish comedian. Jack has won the infamous Blackout twice at Up The Creek and was runner-up at King Gong in the Comedy Store London.
As part of acclaimed sketch trio WitTank, Kieran has enjoyed nine years of sold-out audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe as well as numerous gigs and comedy festivals in the UK and Ireland. Since going solo Kieran has produced a variety of intelligent, oddball and brilliantly observed festival shows.
“Like a young Simon Amstell…Impressively funny…Terrific material.” The Scotsman
PAUL DUNCAN MCGARRITY
Archaeologist by day, comedian (and occasional crime-fighter) by night, Paul is a charming, eloquent and big-hearted storyteller, whose tales of awkwardness at school, on worksites and when eyeball-to-eyeball with a Ugandan rebel leader have left audiences in delighted bit and pieces the nation over. He’s also a core member of the Knightmare Live and Comedian’s Cinema Club casts.
“Like a very tall, funny, excited child.” The Scotsman
AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:
BEN VAN DER VELDE
Freshly returned from the Edinburgh Festival, Ben is ready to take the helm at Good Ship once more and steer it through the vast ocean of comedy we have on offer. One of the quickest wits around and a much-loved compere, he always brings a jam-packed back of nonsense, silliness and wisecracks to every gig he hosts.
"Sharp and crafty gagsmith, a life-giving compere." Chortle
"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine
“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.” Huffington Post
