JOHN ROBINS

John Robins is one of the most critically acclaimed stand-up comedians of his generation. A hugely gifted storyteller, instinctive comic, masterful crowd-wrangler and brutally honest self-examiner, he achieved his big break winning the Edinburgh Comedy Award for his show ‘The Darkness of Robins’. Since then he has become a regular voice in mainstream broadcasting, whether on BBC Radio 5 Live, Radio X or on the podcast ‘How Do You Cope’ alongside his regular co-conspirator Elis James.

Make sure you grab the chance to see him in our intimate venue before he heads out on the biggest tour of his career so far.

“A particularly startling brand of funny.” Guardian

“An exemplary slice of comic rage.” Chortle

AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:

BEN VAN DER VELDE

One of the quickest wits around and a much-loved compere, he always brings a jam-packed back of nonsense, silliness and wisecracks to every gig he hosts.

"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine

“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.”  Huffington Post
